Over the last three months, Brewery Tap, UCA’s Project Space in the heart of Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, has played host to a series of MA student and alumni shows to coincide with the town’s critically acclaimed Folkestone Triennial. As word of mouth spread footfall for the exhibitions exceeded all expectations, with over 3,000 visitors coming to experience a range of new work described by Lewis Biggs, the Triennial’s curator, as a consistently professional standard of work that was an incredible addition to the larger event. Participating students and alumni were blown away by the whole experience. Current MA Fine Art student, Xanthus Andrews, described the opportunity as the most important in the development of his career, selling over £2,000 of new work and generating a series of professional contacts.
