Aiming to Turn Heads in Russia

International Success for Part-time MA Fine Art student

Fine Art student, Richard Want, has recently been selected to exhibit a series of new paintings, developed on the MA course at Canterbury, at the Belyaevo State Exhibit Hall in Moscow in June later this year.

The exhibition, titled ‘In the footsteps of Turner’ and curated by Ian J Taylor will feature the work of artists whose works have developed a visual conversation with the work of J W Turner.

Joining the MA programme in 2012 Richard’s current research and practice are concerned with the changing light and landscape of the Romney Marsh. His latest work, Brompton Cocktail, pictured above is one of the works that he will have on show in Moscow and which Richard describes as a “cumulative memory of his experiences travelling the marshes in search of changes in light.”
